After days of setting up Linux mint applied the lingering updates via the update manager and my system became a blank grub prompt. Thanks linux. Did it cripple Windows 11 (on separate drive from grub) too?
But it was just some BIOS keys or probably the boot order changing, and now it works? Thanks firmware?
Not sure why the BIOS ignores my key hits and goes straight to grub though (where Esc to select drive unfortunately instead directly, confusingly brings me into the blank grub console).

I suppose it's possible that the BIOS boot order I had pointed to my new NVME with grub and LM finally was accepted (it was ignored before so I had to hit esc to select the NVME as a boot drive). So the firmware basically just fixed a bug. So then when I got to the NVME grub menu directly my esc hit was taken from the key buffer and brought me directly out of the grub menu. Yeah, something like that, maybe?
