Afaik, DOSBOX is an emulator, so colour me surprised when I saw a game crash it. It was Elite Frontier : First Encounters. Known issue, but no one seems to have figured out why it happens. Might be sound card related as fiddling around with it makes things slowdown and crash differently. Maybe missing midi device/driver?

Never liked the look of this version... noisy textures and over-complicated ship designs.
