-
Another week in the books. Let's chat about manga in the general discussion thread! Feel free to use this thread for questions, comments, recommendations, etc.
Like normal, please be careful with spoilers. I wrote a guide about spoilers in case you need a refresher on how to handle them (also linked in the sidebar).

Lots of plowing through backlog this week after traveling the week prior. So, here are some highlights of the past week:
I got caught up with this series (at least what is on Mangadex). I have had a lot of fun and it is coming in for what seems like a really nice ending soon. I recommend this one as a nice, quick, low-stakes read (remember that each chapter is just one page long).
This was a relatively quick oneshot. I enjoyed it, but it very much felt like a chapter meant to set up a bigger story. Not sure what the future holds for a potential serialization, but it was nice to get a peek.
This one was interesting. The main character is basically as emotionless as I have ever seen. She was raised in a colloseum as a fighter and really only knows how to kill things. When coincidences align and she finds herself freed from slavery, she really has no idea how the world works. Like, she doesn't know about money, or what parents are, or what a friend is. It's still really early, but I have found it interesting to have an MC that is so utterly clueless about basic humanity.
Only two chapters in this one so far. And no, that is not the full title...but the actual title is just so, so long that I had to shorten it. Basically, a dude gets reincarnated into a game that he was super obsessed with and knows all the ins and outs. The game was notorious for being incredibly complex, with over 1200 different jobs you could have. So, he has set out to fulfill all the conditions to earn the Hero job using his knowledge of the game. It reminds me a lot of the speedrunning isekai, but a bit less silly.

I come here today seeking help.
Give me $50 and I'll pay you back double in a week, no joke.Does anyone know some trustworthy alternatives to Mangadex? It's my main source for the stuff I read but some of the series I follow and post here aren't updated there anymore. I've been using Chapmanganato but it looks like the site died and now I'm in a bind.
I'm looking for an alternative that will be safe to post here as I don't want to unknowingly risk anyone's devices (not everyone uses ad block plugins or hardened browsers after all).

some trustworthy alternatives to Mangadex
Not really, no... I have two sources that I turn to in last resort when Mangadex doesn't have something and I can't get it legally. First is Weeb Central (formerly known as Manga See). They have a mihon extension that works to sidestep ads, so I don't even know how offensive their web ui might be. They do host direct scans of official releases though, so I would prefer not to have posts that link directly to them if possible. If you find a series on there that is being scanlated, then just link the scanlator's site directly if possible (cancerous ads and all, just give a warning).
The other source of last resort would be bato. I tend to avoid bato these days because its mihon extension was broken for a long time and I migrated away from it (not sure if it works now or not). However, I do see several series that I read where the credits page says that the SL group uploads both to mangadex and bato. So, it might be worth a try.

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm worried about. I'll wait and see if there are any other suggestions but it seems like I might have to stop posting some of the titles in the future.
Thanks for the links, I'll check them out!

They had a domain change, and on the main site they wrote to select a different mirror. Guess this happened to you around one or two months ago? -

Guess this happened to you around one or two months ago?It was more like a year or two ago at this point, before mihon existed and I was using tachiyomi. Domain changes can be tough. I have had a couple extensions break for that reason over time.

I use Comick as my source for 99% of things on mihon. They typically have official or the best quality scans i've found. No idea if it's trustworthy or what that means but it works for me
Didn't know that source. Thanks for the heads up. 😊
