    The gimmick gets more gimmicky.

No idea why you're so dismissive. Metroid Prime 4 with a proper mouse is a great outlook.

This was actually my assumption for the mouse controller Nintendo showed.

The real feature is full pointer support! The built in mouse is a gimmick to introduce full pointer support.

He then plugged in a standard USB mouse, confirming that these can also be used with Switch 2 hardware. When the mouse is plugged in, a message on the screen shows that the mouse is connected and takes priority over the Joy-Con 2’s mouse controls.

Ryu then showed that it was possible to use the USB mouse with the right hand, but continue to use the left Joy-Con 2 with the left hand, meaning all the controller shortcuts are still available even when using a standard mouse.

As soon as they showed the JoyCon mouse control I was hoping there would be support for standard mice. It still doesn't do anything to steer me toward a Switch 2 over a Steam Deck, but it's an excellent move for accessibility.

          Wooooow.

Nintendo did it, they found the missing feature that will ensure great sales. How can I boycott Nintendo now, they have mouse support.

Who's claiming that giving away your Deck is a necessity?

On the other hand, I'll be curios how far Steam Input integration will go. Assuming these don't self-destruct every few weeks like the original Joy-cons, these might make a neat portable controller.

I don't have a Steam Deck yet. Given the choice between that and the Switch 2, at this point, I'm still going with the Steam Deck.

You can always buy a used Switch 2 once it's hackable.

Funny you mention it, the next large purchase I have planned is a gaming PC to replace my aging 2018 laptop, and I plan on going all-in on Linux. From what I can tell, AMD seems to be the way to go, and as a long time Fedora user, I'm interested in Nobara.

                      What's your setup? Any recommendations?

I mean, Switch 1 also has keyboard and mouse support. Just not a lot of games support it.

I've always felt like this would be the ultimate FPS setup. The aiming precision of the mouse, but using analog for movement
