I've got well over a thousand hours in Hitman: WOA across PS5 and PC. I've put thousands and thousands across the entire series. I am also obsessed with James Bond and know far too much lore.

The level of hype I have for this game cannot be understated. Like... Deltarune type shit.

I remember when I'd play goldeneye on N64.

Granted the game hasn't aged well, but for the time, it was the best game ever.

So much so that now, whenI see a new 007 game announced, I get a momentary feeling of "OH SHIT!" until I remember it's not going to be as fun as being 14, staying up all night in the summer, eating lays potato chips, drinking coke, dragging your balls across the losers face and laughing at him as everybody else holds him down, watching WWF Raw live, and then WCW Nitro on VHS recorded hours before, playing the improv one word game that all stoners play instinctively, recording vhs game boy camera movies. The summer of 1997 and 1998 was magical.

For a brief moment, I get nostolgia anytime I see a new 007 game. Then I instantly remember it'll never live up to those days of my youth, now in my 40s.

I was hyped for this but imho this is looking way too whacky for me. Bold looks way too young and not refined at all, and the music is the most generic thing I’ve ever heard. Considering most Bond movies have amazing soundtracks, they should’ve put more effort into it.

Edit: I couldn’t remember what it reminded me of. Now I do: this Bond has more of an Archer vibe than James Bond. Maybe Craig spoiled us all.

Apparently, Bond is only 26 in this story. He's only just started out as a 00 or training to be one.

So basically it's an origin story for 007 & the 00-programme.

Nice & honestly I trust IOI to make a proper 007 game & this time we have an excuse to go guns blazing because 007 is reckless

Yes I have. This looks more like Uncharted than James Bond. A shame for me personally, because I had high hopes for this title.

Here is what i don't get: what's the point of even doing a bond game? Why would you restrict yourself to a franchise that the target audience don't even care about? They can't make a spy game that is fun to play? They can't come up with a name for the protagonist?

...because the people who make bond want one and it has a lot of name recognition. Are there many spy games doing well on a mass market level?

Splinter Cell back in the day, and Hitman in the current day are both very famous games. Also I can recommend Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. That's peak 007 style spy game.

Aye splinter cell is out of the market nowadays, and the success of Hitman is what got the 007 brand to get IOI to do this.

I would probbaly enjoy cyberpunk but I dont really like fps.

Try out cyberpunk, really. It’s imho one of the top 5 RPGs ever made, besides Mass Effect series and a Kingdom Come
